Students were asked to draw an image representing the words that they had earlier defined in groups. In the next class they did a gallery walk of all the posters and described how an image defined the word on the poster.
Global warming - an illustrated explanation
A nutrition unit for a kindergarten student.
English class in China: took class to a grocery store to learn new vocabulary about fruits, vegetables, etc. Gave them twenty minutes to list as much as they could with illustrations.
Narrative story writing using story frame: "Once upon a time, Everyday, But then one day, Because of that, Until finally, And ever since then." (4th grade)
